Mugalim School (mugalim in the Kazakh language means 'teacher') has worked since 1997 in Aktobe as a non-commercial organization.
It provides services in the sphere of culture and art, supports preserving and spreading of cultural values, is engaged in cultural enlightenment of the young.
The school unites gifted children keen on music, singing, design, painting, theatre, and foreign languages. The school is outstanding for its individual approach in teaching and developing the interest to the subject learned.

The school is run by its creative and organizational leader Yulia Nikolaevna Savchenko, an aspirant (postgraduate student) of the St. Petersburg State University of Culture and Art. Y.N. Savchenko was born in Aktobe, studied in school No 11, then in a musical college which she graduated with the Red Diploma (A level) specializing in choir conducting.
Then she studied in Moscow in the Moscow State Institute of Culture at the faculty of cultural enlightenment.
Good professional growth was gained in Kaliningrad (Russia) as the Head of the Cultural Centre of Fishermen, and later in Aktobe from 1990 to 1993 as the Director of the Student Club of the Medical Academy.
Y.N. Savchenko built her own business in a very untraditional manner, as there are and were no schools in Aktobe similar to Mugalim, where a team of creative teachers educes gifted children from the age of 4 till their entering the most prestigious colleges and universities of Europe, Kazakhstan and Russia in such specialties being in great demand as architect, designer, diplomat, political scientist, arts critic, modeler, linguist, economist and others.
The school is greatly involved in public work. Starting from 1997 Y.N. Savchenko is an active member of the Association of Business Women of Kazakhstan and heads the
Woman and Culture section of the branch of this Association in Aktobe.
Awаrded for irreproachable business reputation and high working quality in the Culture nomination at the Republican competition
Azhar in 2003, is in the book
100 Best Women of Kazakhstan. Awarded with an
Akim's Diploma as the
Best Entrepreneur in the Services Sector in 2003 and a Deed from the Minister of Culture for work on popularization of friendship between nations.
Mugalim School constantly participates in cultural events and feasts of the city, businessmen forums, exhibitions of ideas and talents of the youth.
In October 2004 the Azhar model agency of Mugalim School was the first debut project within the Russia-Kazakhstan International Forum
"Cooperation Without Limits".
Based on the results of this forum the school and the agency were awarded with special Diplomas for the creative approach and performance technique.
The work of Y.N. Savchenko on cultural education of the young, organization of their wholesome leisure and professional education was marked with the first degree Diploma
"For the Contribution in the Social and Political Life of Aktobe City" by the department of the internal policy in 2004.
For a long time in Mugalim School there has run a program
"With Music Round the World". Within this program Mugalim School has realized a project together with the Russian company "Zhizn' Gorodov" (Life of Cities), Moscow. The project was aimed at the participation of Kazakhstan and Russian teams in the International Multi-Genre Festival in Sharm-el-Sheikh, Egypt.
Another working profile of Mugalim School consists in training schoolchildren to enter colleges and universities. The school closely cooperates with prestigious universities of Czechia, Russia and Kazakhstan: State Karlov University and State Economical University in Prague, the St. Petersburg State University of Culture and Art, the St. Petersburg Institute of Law, Moscow Engineering and Physical Institute, Eurasian University named after L.N. Gumilev in Astana. The preparatory courses in Mugalim School deliver knowledge necessary to pass exams successfully to one of the above universities. The courses operate in accordance with the methods and requirements of the universities, and are based on the coursebooks and programs of our partners.
